Learn the Game of Kings for all the right reasons!  Maybe you have a child or grandchild learning chess and you want to help them.

Maybe you've heard that chess is one of those activities that help the the brain nimble as we get older.

Maybe you have a smart aleck neighbor who constantly wins at chess and smirks while checkmating you!

And of course, perhaps you want to play chess well because it is a lifetime sport.

Come and learn from an experienced tournament player and teacher

We'll learn both tactical and strategic play, why published chess opening are so important but why you don't have to memorize them, why pawns are the soul of chess, why the Russians used to teach player better, and even learn some zany variations of chess just for fun.

David Vowell learned chess from his father at age ten, and taught the game in the public schools for 25 years, has offered instruction for adults for almost as long, and still competes online with players from all over the world. One of the top three amateurs in Florida in the past, Vowell still holds a rating over 2000 in international competition.
