Get to know the songs of Appalachia while having fun, not just singing but also learning about the old, old origins from Britain, Scotland, and Ireland, and how those songs got changed by Appalachian settlers.

To pique your curiosity, here’s some of the themes we’ll explore:

  • Hymns that started off naughty!
  • Mean men and dangerous women.
  • Lessons from the critters.
  • Mushy mountain love songs.
  • A change is gonna come.
  • Uniquely American folk songs.

We’ll have fun with plenty of sing-along, and before you know it you will be able to compose your own folk song.
